Hello, and welcome to the Children's Crisis Support Program page! Below you will find some quick facts about our program and what you can expect when giving the hotline a call. Thanks for reading and we look forward to working with you and your family!

Who Can Call:
  • Anyone! Parents of children aged 13 and younger, or teens/young adults 14-21 can call directly to begin receiving crisis support.
  • Other professionals (police, schools, OCY, JPO, other mental health professionals) working with children who are in crisis can call, but verbal consent from parents with children aged 13 and under, or from teens/young adults 14-21 is needed before crisis support can be provided.

What to Expect:
  • During the initial call workers will ask questions to:
    • Understand where the crisis is occurring and who is presently with the child.
    • Get consent (if child is 13 or under) from parent/guardian in order to provide crisis support.
    • Determine what safety concerns immediately exist.
    • Assess for risk, and help the caller to establish calm; come up with a plan for safety in the immediate moment.
    • Collect demographic information (name, phone number, address, child’s DOB).
  • After immediate safety has been established through either phone or mobile crisis support, CCSP will work with the family to understand what lead up to the crisis, and how to manage it differently in the future.
  • CCSP will get releases to talk with other members on the child’s treatment team to communicate risk assessment and safety plans and collaborate care moving forward.

Services Provided:
  • Telephone Counseling
  • Mobile Crisis Intervention
  • Referral to other supports as needed
